The Town Clerk of Salzburg
Born in 1961 in Salzburg and raised in this wonderful city, I discovered my passion for foreign languages at a young age. After graduating from high school and training in tourism, I went to France and Italy to study languages.
Back in Austria, I first worked in a travel agency, started a family and later worked as a tour guide and as a tour guide in Salzburg museums.
In 2014, I fulfilled a long-standing dream and passed the exam to become a state-certified Austrian tour guide. Since then, I have been proud to introduce interested people from all over the world and of all ages to the unique art and cultural treasures of my beautiful hometown with all its facets and fascinating stories.

Salzburg is best known as the birthplace of W.A. Mozart. Here, in the old town, the famous child prodigy was born on 27 January 1756.
Traditional costume still has a special significance for young and old. In numerous shops you can find colourful dirndls and traditional lederhosen for every taste.
The Almkanal was built as early as the 12th century to supply water to the city of Salzburg. Today it is still an important energy supplier and also offers surfing fun on a standing wave.
The natural monument Hellbrunner Allee in the south of the city is the oldest preserved stately avenue in Central Europe.
At the Augustiner Bräu in the Mülln district, at the foot of the Mönchsberg, beer has been brewed since 1621.
For many years now, the traditional Salzburg Christmas market – one of the most beautiful and oldest Christmas markets in the world – has been held in a unique ambience around the cathedral.

Sights of the city of Salzburg
High up on the fortress hill above the roofs of the baroque old town is the Hohensalzburg Fortress.
W. A. Mozart was born in the “Hagenauer Haus” at Getreidegasse 9. He also spent his childhood and youth here with his sister “Nannerl”.
Mirabell Palace, built around 1600, and Mirabell Gardens, redesigned at the end of the 17th century, are among the most beautiful places in this city.
The former pleasure palace for Salzburg’s prince archbishops still enchants and amazes its visitors with impressive architecture and enchanting water features.

The Fuggerei in Augsburg is the oldest social settlement in the world in continuous use. It was built from 1514 to 1523 by order of the brothers Ulrich, Georg and especially Jakob Fugger (the rich) under the direction of the master builder Thomas Krebs.
More casually, when a document is issued on July 16, 1050, it is noted: “Actum Nuorenberc. Feliciter Amen”. The place Nuremberg is on record from that moment. The mentioned document confirms the release of a serf named Sigena.
